Work Station 1


	This is the primary forging area of the shop. A Champion 400 blower provides the blast to the 9” X 11” fire pot mounted in the 3’ X 3’ forge hearth. A #210 Peter Wright provides the work surface for my blacksmithing and the 65-gallon slack tub cools everything off. Punches, chisels, extra tongs and hammers are on a tool bench within easy reach.


	This old hand cranked Welles Bros. drill press is used for the majority of the drilling needs in the shop. It has a dual cam, adjustable rate automatic drill feed and adjustable work surface. I have drilled a ¾” hole through 1” plate steel with this machine.
