My name is Scott Thomas and I am the blacksmith of Ardenwood Forge.

I became involved with blacksmithing back in 1991 when I started working as a Farrier (Horseshoer). As a Farrier, one has to know basic blacksmithing for making and fitting horseshoes and maintaining your tools. I soon discovered I had a real passion for the iron working aspect of horseshoeing and I started to expand my knowledge and skills in the area of general blacksmithing. Soon my ideas and tool collection grew larger than my small garage could handle. In 1998, a Horseshoer friend of mine told me that Ardenwood Historic Farm was looking for a new concessionaire to run the blacksmith shop at the park. After working out a contract with the park, I moved into the building where Ardenwood Forge now lives.
