Hilts

These hilts are a superior way to modify a bamboo shinai into a simulated European sword. The one-piece hilt is designed for quick and easy installation without the need for tape or miscellaneous individual parts. The hilt allows for easy shinai replacement if the shinai breaks. When assembled with a shinai, these hilts closely replicate the weight and balance of a real European style sword. The hilts are guaranteed for life against breakage (the hilt only, not the shinai).

New and Improved

The hilts now have flats along the grip (creating an oval shape) for improved “edge” feel, but still uses the standard round Shinai. No need to use the expensive oval Shinai.

	Hilts weigh approximately the following regardless of cross/pommel combinations. Hand and a Half :1 1/2 lbs. Single Hand: 1 lb. Two Hand: 2 lb.


		Crosses

Straight cross: Included in base price. Dimensions: Hand and a half hilt: 8 1/2” wide. Single hand: 7 “ wide. Two hand: 9 1/2” wide.

	Bent tip cross: Add $5.00 Dimensions: Hand and a half: 8 1/2” wide. Single hand: 8 1/2” wide. Two hand: 9 1/2” wide.

Curved cross: Add $5.00

Dimensions: Hand and a half: 8 1/2” wide.

Single hand: 8 1/2” wide.

Two hand: 9 1/2” wide.


		S-Curve cross: Add $5.00 Dimensions: Hand and a half: 8 1/2” wide. Single hand: 8 1/2” wide. Two hand: 9 1/2” wide.

	Pommels

Wheel pommel: Included in base price.

Dimensions: 1 1/2” diameter and 5/8” thick

To find total hilt length with a particular pommel, add the length of the pommel (or its diameter) to the following:

Hand and a half hilt: 8 1/4”

Single hand hilt: 6 1/4”

Two hand hilt: 10 1/4”

Example: A wheel pommel on a hand and a half hilt gives a total hilt length of 9 3/4” (8 1/2” + 1 1/2”).




	Scent stopper pommel: Add $10.00 to base price Dimensions: 1 3/4” long X 1 1/8” round at the widest part.




	Fish tail pommel: Add $10.00 to the base price Dimensions: 1 3/4” long X 1 1/2” wide X 5/8” thick.




	Ball pommel: Add $10.00 to base price. Dimension: 1 3/8 diameter.
